Career Objective and Bio

My objective in any job or freelance project is to use my writing skills and public relations experience to promote the arts, music, sustainable living, and healthy communities.

Alexandra M. Landeros graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998 with a B.A. in History and Public Policy and a double minor in International Affairs and Film & Media Studies. Upon moving to Austin, Texas in the summer of 1998, she rediscovered her calling as a writer, and after participating in the Vortex Repertory Company writers workshop for three years, she returned to school to earn her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Texas State University.

After graduate school, she worked in retail and nonprofit administration and eventually made her way into public relations for Mexic-Arte Museum and then Descuento Libre. With these two jobs, she gained experience in marketing and promotions, event management, and social media. She didn't abandon her dream to become a writer, however - she also pursued freelance writing and is currently featured weekly on AustinPost.org and LatinoMetro.com.
