PR & Social Media

I frequently participate in training sessions and webinars to learn the most current best practices and tools - some of these include the annual Hispanicize and LATISM conferences, as well as the several workshops provided by the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division and the Downtown Austin Alliance.

I primarily use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, and Pinterest, but I am also familiar with other tools such as Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, and Digg - I am comfortable learning new tools quickly. I'm also familiar with using management and analytics tools such as Hootsuite.

In addition, I have two personal blogs (Undercover Mexican Girl and Ecoloxica), and I am well connected to various prominent Latino blogger communities throughout the United States. I am currently serving on the planning community for the 2012 LATISM conference in Houston, and I am volunteer Social Media Ambassador for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

When nonprofit organizations and small businesses were barely getting their start in social media, I launched the Facebook and Twitter pages for Mexic-Arte Museum in 2008. I also managed all social media presence for Descuento Libre from March 2011 through June 2012.
